Rancho Santa Fe

Dining

Steak 48
We are biased as this extraordinary dining destination is one of our clients. Created by the legendary Mastro Family, Steak 48 creates an atmosphere that can best be described as simply knowing you are exactly where you want to be. The Chefs' tables are the absolute extra treat. For VIP reservations, please contact us directly.

The Pony Room
This is the go-to of one of our favorite clients, for nearly every time he comes to town. Breakfast, lunch, afternoon, dinner, late night...it is always a good idea to pop into the Pony Room.
5921 Valencia Cir, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067

Mille Fleurs
Our friends did their PR for years, and another friend has been the bartender for over two decades, so yes, coming here feels like you just walked into a cozy night you'll never forget in Rancho Santa Fe.

Shops

Isola
Newly opened in one of the Jackson's buildings, this new shop is ready for friends to shop and linger. Curated and beautiful for everything from resort wear to evening.

Equestrian

HITS
Our extended family sponsored this Del Mar Horsepark last year so we had the pleasure of being part of its opening season. It is a 65-acre equestrian facility which just completed its multi-million-dollar remodel. One of the West Coast’s most popular showgrounds, HITS Del Mar offers world-class, multi-discipline equestrian competition, including Premier Hunters, CSI Jumpers and CDI-W and CDI 3* and 4* Dressage competition.

Schools

R. Rodger Rowe as part of the Rancho Santa Fe School District is part of the discussion of nearly every client navigating home choices and schools. Our clients are on the Board & are big supporters of the School. We're always glad to make first-hand introductions to clients so they can make the most well-informed decisions across the choices of public and private schools with friends attending The Nativity School, Santa Fe Christian, Torrey Pines High School, Del Sur High School and more within the area.

Private Clubs

As with all memberships, our team is proud to be members of the following local Clubs and welcome introducing clients to the right membership directors for more information.

The Bridges of Rancho Santa Fe
A PRIVATE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB IN THE HEART OF RANCHO SANTA FE
Imagine a private retreat, nestled among the citrus groves, rolling foothills and lush fairways of Southern California. Picture a place of connections, camaraderie, competition and ease from the pace of life - an idyllic environment for a gracious way of living.

The Del Mar Country Club
One of the most exclusive Clubs, privately owned and operated.

La Valle Coastal Club
Newly rebranded, this is a golfer and family favorite; casual, and fun.

The Crosby
"A place of warmth and sharing with friends and family." This Club has such quiet elegance; we adore it for events.

Fairbanks Ranch Country Club
Owned and operated by the Bay Club, this has become a family favorite for its sports and recreation.

Hotels

Rancho Valencia
We've spent enough spa days here to have seen President Obama, celebrities and locals call this their "must visit" getaway to know that this is our hands-down top recommended San Diego hotel. We come here to escape the busy real world and to feel relaxed and replenished upon exit. It is worth every penny. (And, yes, a lot of pennies. Any time of year, warm or crisp, this hotel is ready to greet you.)

The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe
Located in the heart of town, and the welcome mat to the Village of RSF, this legendary hotel invites you to discover the quiet elegance that is the one and only Rancho Santa Fe. We know the Food & Beverage Director from past-years-ago PR days and to see him at the helm means this is going to be a place where the food AND service will both be impeccable.

Interior Designers

Amy Meier
When I finally met Amy Meier, after seeing her career in design catapult to International acclaim, I felt like I was more excited than meeting a celebrity from The Hollywood Walk of Fame. She is the meaning of what I value in creating a design lens that is all her own, interpreting each client's home and personal style into home masterpieces. Take a look at her instagram or visit her gallery-meet-shop in the heart of RSF.

DINNER & CATERING

Candor
I can say, with out fail, that every single dish I ever served from Giuseppe has been a fan-favorite. It's true...I have catered dinner parties, holidays, Thanksgiving & summer soirees, and his food is always perfection. Hailing from Northern Italy, his style is fresh, seasonal and connects to me in that Ina-Garten-meets-a-handsome-Chef-from-Italy-sort-of-way. Do not miss my son's favorite pasta & meatballs; seasonal Chef's whims; and chatting with his family who own and operate this sweet destination along with their host of restaurants - Caroline's Cafe and Giuseppe's Fine Catering.

Candor:
1030 Torrey Pines Rd B, La Jolla, CA 92037

Caroline's Cafe by Giuseppe: Located in the Scripps Institute of Oceanography at The Forum of La Jolla
*On the ocean, to the north-end of La Jolla, near UCSD

8610 Charles F, Kennel Way, La Jolla, CA 92037

Shops

The Faded Awning
A host of buyers, all under one roof, come together to create a store you can get lost in meandering the possibilities. Adore this for pillows, gifts and coastal Christmas decor. (Suggest you come sans kids who can very easily break an ornament or stack of them in less time than you can image. If you must bring the kids, send them to the La Jolla Rec Center for some playtime and come shop solo here to enjoy yourself!)
7464 (upper) Girard Avenue, La Jolla, CA 92037

Warwick's
You may just run into Diane Keaton while shopping this bookstore meets classic gifts, art supply and stationery store. Our favorite go-to for presents as you can pick the wrapping paper and pick it up after shopping. (Nearly everyone on our list gets books for Christmas, for a reason.) Now, this is a shop I DO bring the kids into. They love looking at all the books, and endless ideas of what to create in the art supply area. I encourage (well, honestly, make them) pick out books as gift ideas and write a little note on the first page of the gift recipient. Recommend a visit at least a few times a year to get into the spirit of the season -- spring, summer, fall, Christmas. They cover it all.
7812 Girard Ave, La Jolla, CA 92037

C. Blackburn Jewelers
Carl is a trusted jeweler in La Jolla. You can count on him to design, or source, a timeless piece. Book a time ahead to tell him what you have in mind and let his creative genius do its magic.
864 Prospect St A, La Jolla, CA 92037

Art

Krista Schumacher Art
There is a reason this artist, and her Mother, have stollen our hearts in La Jolla. Her art is as magnetic as her warm spirit. Stop in and get ready to want to buy a piece to hang in your new La Jolla estate. She does commission work; and she is giving to the community. We've had her pieces included in silent auction fundraisers to support key causes and her work always connects with audiences.
1113 Wall St, La Jolla, CA 92037

Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego
We're a small town with big city museum soul. This extraordinary museum just completed a major expansion and is now an Internationally-recognized destination for modern art. Get ready to be curious. And stay for brunch at The Kitchen.
700 Prospect St.
La Jolla, CA 92037

The Murals of La Jolla
We couldn't have this list and not suggest to see this special public art located throughout La Jolla. One of our favorites is the wall of favorite colors from people the artist connected with -- yes, it makes a perfect backdrop for a Christmas card or "hidden gem" moment in 92037.

La Jolla Historical Society
A must-visit and explore. Book an appointment to discover the archives and learn from the volunteer docents who know the history of La Jolla.
7846 Eads Ave.
La Jolla, CA 92037

Schools

The public school system in La Jolla is one of the many reasons families aspire to plant their roots in 92037 and north Pacific Beach streets within the district boundaries. Our children have attended school at United Methodist Nursery School in Bird Rock, where their Reggio Emilia method of teaching makes children feel valued and heard as teachers are fully in the present moment with the kids' development. It's a place where kids get to be their curious, creative selves and parents get to be part of seeing their world come to life.

La Jolla United Methodist Nursery School
Tip: Get on the wait list early. (As in, as soon as your child is born. Yes, it is that good!)
6063 La Jolla Boulevard
La Jolla, CA 92037

I can also speak to the parenting experience at All Hallows Academy, where my son attended elementary and middle school. The community here is strong and complements a sportsmanship meets religious and academic upbringing.
2390 Nautilus St, La Jolla, CA 92037

La Jolla Elementary School has been an incredible asset for my daughter's education. A place where she has succeeded beyond my expectations across academics, friendship and a love of learning. As a volunteer "garden Mom", I was able to interact with the kids every week. The first grade class loved to get their hands into the garden, spreading ladybugs, trimming herbs for cooking and watching caterpillars eat their way through every leaf. Community & education come together here.

Friends have kids who have attended Gillispie School, The Evans School, La Jolla Country Day, The Bishop's School, La Jolla High School, and La Jolla Presbyterian Nursery School; & we'll soon get to experience Bird Rock Elementary and Muirlands Middle School.

First-hand feedback based on every child's needs is what we aim to connect our clients with. And, in process, support clients as they navigate the choices of where to own or rent a home during chapters of their children's lives. Many clients and friends have made La Jolla home after commuting here to bring their kids to the Bishop's School, for example. And, some come for that season and then are ready to move or turn their home into a second home.

Our role is to support and know all the options so that our clients can make the most informed decision about their real estate plans.

Private Clubs

La Jolla Country Club
An exclusive golf club with equity and social membership, we welcome you to visit with their membership team to understand why the La Jolla Country Club has earned its reputation for tradition, elegance and warmth.

La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club
To know the Beach Club's classic charm is to love it with all of your heart. The Beach Club means the world to its members and visitors because it is the place where memories are made. We are proud to call ourselves members and celebrate as many morning walks and sunsets as we can. A fun tip: book a visit here at the Hotel and experience the Club's classic charm for yourself. We promise everyone will have a good time. Don't miss: tennis, pickleball courts, golf, pop-up surprises for the kids, pool dips and dinners on the sand.

Sports

La Jolla Youth Baseball
The fields of this baseball league show the dedication of this community. My son plays on many baseball fields across Southern California and this field is the only place where you can see the ocean, say hello to at least a dozen friends and enjoy a pop-up dinner all at one very exceptional baseball field.

La Jolla High School - Vikings Athletics
Year-round sports from Homecoming to summer camps.

La Jolla Youth Soccer League
Impact has a strong soccer league with experienced coaches that allow kids to enjoy the game, learn and get some solid playing time on the field.

Beaches

Little Point
A sweet "secret" spot that requires beachgoers to respect the estates on the coastline to share this extraordinary part of our world. Come prepared to park and walk a bit down a little rocky pathway to discover a little slice of Pacific heaven.

La Jolla Shores - to the very North near Scripps Pier. This is our suggested go-to for the Shores. Near Caroline's Cafe and the Scripps Pier, enjoy wide open beaches with a little less crowd than you may find to the south. See the Piercam and plan your day. (And plan to pay for parking on UCSD's property or enjoying a little "worth it" walk.)

Hotels

Estancia La Jolla
It's in La Jolla, but somehow feels like you are in Rancho Santa Fe, yet in 92037. It's a quiet, lovely hotel - AAA Four Diamond and 2022 Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Award winner featuring 10 acres of lush gardens, quiet courtyards, and adobe fireplaces. Recently renovated, we go here for "staycations" to getaway without having to leave our favorite town. Fun to go from here for dinner at the Shores. The spa here at Estancia is wonderful. Don't skip the poolside time and jacuzzi dip. 9700 N Torrey Pines Rd, La Jolla, CA 92037

La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club
We're back championing this special destination as we love it here. It's down-to-earth as much as it is legendary.
2000 Spindrift Dr, La Jolla, CA 92037

La Valencia
Legendary is a term we use often, and for good reason. Walk in and feel the beauty of the fresh florals ready to greet you at La Valencia - their fresh-baked cookies, the afternoon tea, the evening live music, the oceanside pool - and you know you are somewhere extraordinary. A European feel on the coast of California.
1132 Prospect St, La Jolla, California 92037

Interior Designers

Now, these are some of our favorites - tried & true - we've worked with them as clients. We've represented them as publicists. We've seen their work grace our friends' homes with huge smiles from everyone within the home.

For a modern coastal eye, (and her work would also be stunning in a ranch) - meet South Harlow.

If preppy coastal monograms make your heart skip a beat, meet AGK Design Studio.

For European, elegant with a modern, well-traveled lens, meet Van Galder Design. (We happen to know some of her local celebrity clients & have secured her press features for her hospitality work at Rancho Valencia.)

Home Services

These names are on our favorites list on our iphones for a reason. (Well, maybe we don't ring them that often...but we do love these family-owned and operated resources for many reasons including we trust them completely.)

Green Gardens Nursery
Ask for Chrissy, Skyler or Paul...or anyone on their staff as they are all exceptional!)

Pure Window Cleaning
We've had him clean our windows quarterly since he started -- and he's made rental homes and new homes of our clients "listing ready" for over a decade.

For personal recommendations of painters, millworkers, general contractors, cleaners, movers and more, please contact us. We entrust our extended team members to work with clients who will treat them as respectfully as they do in completing their work.
